I can give you an idea on what to write, but it would be plagiarism to give you a story that I wrote.
Here is my story plot: There is this creepy old lady in the house on Maple St. She likes to give out apples and blank you fill in for Halloween. A little girl named Terry is dressed up as an blank you fill in. Something scary can happen like the old lady turns out to be Terry's mother who doubled for the old lady every day. And then go from there. Get into the story. Hope that helped.

Why might Mrs. Jones feel compelled to help Roger?
raketka [301]

I think it is D, she likely has been in a similar position coz when she talks with Roger she says something like “I’ve been just like you” or something like that.

. When the speaker of "War Is Kind" says, "Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind," what technique is he using to make his point?
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

J. Verbal Irony

Explanation:

War is Kind is a poem by Steven Crane.

The poem begins with the speaker telling a maiden not to weep -

Do not weep, maiden, for war is kind

The technique used here is verbal irony.

Verbal Irony: This is a literary technique that occurs when a speaker says something that contrasts with what he means; his actions and emotions.

Verbal irony was used on the line above.

The speaker is very much aware of the brutality and unkind nature of war but still describes war as a kind phenomenon and tells the maiden not to weep.
