The coordinate is (-4, 4)
nataly862011 [7]3 years ago
4 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given A( 1 , -2)=( x1, y1)

B( x2 , y2)

Mid point of AB, M ( -2 , 1)

Now we have the formula for the mid point that is

Mid point of AB = [ (x1 + x2)/ 2 , ( y1 + y2) /2]

Or, ( -2 , 1 ) = [ ( 1 + x2) / 2 , ( -2 + y2) / 2]

Now equating with the corresponding elements we get,

-2 = ( 1 + x2) / 2

-4 = 1 + x2

x2 = -4 - 1

x2 = -5

Also

1 =( -2 + y2) / 2

2 = -2 + y2

y2 = 2+2

y2 = 4

Therefore the coordinates of B are ( -5 , 4)

Hope it helps. :)

Sean operates a lawn-cutting business. He charges $15 for a single lawn and $25 for a front and back lawn. Sean made $475 from 2
topjm [15]

The system of equations that models the given situation is given as follows:

 • x + y = 25.
 • 15x + 25y = 475.

What is a system of equations?

A system of equations is when two or more variables are related, and equations are built to find the values of each variable.

In this problem, the variables are given as follows:

 • Variable x: Number of single lawns cut.
 • Variable y: Number of front and back lawns cut.

He had 25 customers, hence:

x + y = 25.

He charges $15 for a single lawn and $25 for a front and back lawn, and made a total of $475, hence:

15x + 25y = 475

In a certain triangle x,y,z represents side lengths if x=7 and z=5 what must be true about y
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

2 < y < 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x = 7

z = 5

Required

What must be true about y?

To answer this, we first calculate the range as follows;

Minimum = |x - z|

and

Maximum = |x + z|

For Minimum, we have:

Minimum = |7 - 5|

Minimum = |2|

Minimum = 2

For Maximum, we have:

Maximum = |7 + 5|

Maximum = |12|

Maximum = 12

The values of y are then bounded by the following:

Minimum < y < Maximum

This gives

2 < y < 12
