Select a Spanish-speaking country from South America, Europe, or the Caribbean and do some research on the Internet to find out
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

Tapas are a diverse range of snacks or appetizers that are widely popular in Spanish cuisine. Although originally from Spain, the tradition of tapas quickly spread to Latin America and consequently, the rest of the world. Often served in bars, they are prepared with a wide variety of ingredients that range from olives, potatoes, and various cheeses to squid, salmon, or sausage.

The word tapas comes from the Spanish word for “lid,” tapa. It’s believed that the tapa was a piece of bread or meat used to cover glasses of alcohol to prevent fruit flies from hovering over the drinks. The meat used was usually a slice of ham or chorizo sausage, and often made  drinkers thirsty, due to its saltiness. As patrons ordered more drinks, bartenders began serving a variety of snacks with their drinks.

Which verb means "to know" in the present but "to find out" in the preterite?
GenaCL600 [577]

Explanation:

The verb "saber" in Spanish can express knowledge, although in the preterite it can mean "to find out".

Let's see examples:

"Yo se como hacer pastel." --- It implies knowledge.

"¡Lo sabía! - This exclamation is used to give a sense of discovery to a thing.

Next I will write how the verb Saber is conjugated in the present and in the preterite for the different people of Spanish.

Present:

Yo se

Tú sabes

Él / Ella / Usted sabe

Nosotros/as sabemos

Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes saben

Preterite:

Yo sabía

Tú sabías
