Answer:

New wartime technologies:

More mobile tanks with new features, variations of warplanes that could faster and higher, semi-automatic rifles (example: M1 Grand), mounted weapons that have fast fire rates (example: Browning M1917), improved hand grenades, Improved amphibious crafts (example: Higgins boat).

How these helped:

With improved tanks such as different variations of the Sherman tank, they could be modified by their weaponry especially the main canons. An example would be the "Firefly" which is a British variation of the sherman tank that added a 17-pounder cannon. Also equipped to Shermans were the machine guns on the top and inside of the tank such as the browning M1917 which was used to mow down rows of enemies close range. They were also mounted throughout the field in strategic positions to fire upon enemies. With that said, the semi-automatic rifles stood a threat to Axis rifles that would have to reload a bullet for each shot. Improved hand grenades were also used and improved mortars to shoot at far-away positions. The Higgins boat was a major advantage for the allies that allowed them to commence with Operation Overlord (D-Day) and also capture islands in the pacific. These were supported by allied aircraft that could fly higher and faster than those used in WW1. All of this new wartime technology helped the allies win the war.
