With that, the last choice will not apply to the paragraph anymore. The second and third choices do not apply as well because all words used were neither jargon nor difficult. Rather the words and phrases used like, "interested...but changed their minds", "frustrated", and "revolution in the mountains", were easy to grasp and quickly conveys how a possibly bright future has turned into a sour one.
