As an engineer, I can say without question that I have not seen this level of professional engineering anywhere in the county an

d maybe in all of the state since I moved here some 12 years ago. For years, the runoff in this area from previous construction has been damaging homes and property. Not only has the county addressed a long-standing problem, but it has also finished the project and dressed the edges of the road properly. All this in about one month, which shows it can be done. If this is any indication of what we may come to expect from our new county staff, we are very grateful.
What opinion is the author expressing in this selection?
A.
The new county staff is doing a good job.
B.
The county addressed a long-standing problem.
C.
Runoff from construction has been damaging homes and property.
D.
The county staff finished the project and dressed the edges of the road properly.

At what point does John Proctor realize he is facing his own demise? what is his reaction? How is / isn't this consistent with t
laiz [17]

John Proctor is the protagonist of <em>The Crucible</em>, by Arthur Miller. In this story, Proctor has one major trait that brings about his demise: his lust for Abigail, a girl who works for him. Abigail and John embark on an affair, which ends up ruining his reputation. Although Proctor tries to hide the affair at first, he eventually realizes that he is facing his own demise as his wife Elizabeth is arrested.

Proctor's actions are consistent with those of a tragic hero. A single character trait led Proctor to make a series of bad choices, and in a context where reputation is everything, his damaged image cannot be expected to make a comeback. These actions are his downfall.

According to how the other half lives why did sinks stink in tenements
mestny [16]
Jacob Riis did not give away the explicit reason for the stench of the sink in the tenements. His only clue was the line "that all the tenants may have access", the reader would have to understand the living condition of the tenements for them to realize that the stench is the result of the over-populated tenement which lacked new plumbing.

Which conflict greatly stressed relations between the American colonists and britan?
just olya [345]
There are many times when American Colonists and Great Britain faced stressed relations before the American Revolution.
One of them, for example, was when Britain sent troops to America to ensure that their laws and regulations were followed. However, Britain sent ONE soldier to every FOUR citizens, making the area fill up fast. Therefore, Britain passed the Quartering Acts, In which the British Soldiers were sent to live in the homes of the colonists, simply because there were so many of them and not enough places for Britain to let them stay.

Which of the following is least likely to appear on your transcript ?
makkiz [27]

Answer:

The purpose of a <em>High-school or College Transcript</em> is to display and indicate the <em>experience and education taken</em> by the student that might count as credit or quality for eventual promotions.

So a transcript is essentially the official record of an academic performance, listing <em>all courses taken</em> and <em>given grades</em>, including <em>every class</em>, when they were taken and sometimes including <em>test scores</em> and <em>received honors</em>, <em>grade average</em> and sometimes also <em>attendance rating</em>; it's basically <em>an inventory of the</em> <em>courses and grades</em> throughout the process.

Thereby the least likely to be included from that list would be (C): <em>"Minor disciplinary affairs"</em>
