<u>Explanation</u>:

After proper addressing (both Milo's and the recipient) at the top of the document and the Date. The main body of the letter could read below;

Dear Sir/Ma,

APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF STUDENT ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

I am very much excited to apply to your job opening for the Student Activity Coordinator role under the Office of Student Affairs for the University. Having acquired over two years of experience coordinating student on-campus events, volunteering on several student community projects, and receiving several academic awards during my time in University, I feel I'm the ideal candidate for the job.

I am passionate about working with a diversely talented group of youngsters and adults in the university community. I have a very friendly disposition towards those I have the chance to work with in the past and present. With my communication skills, as well as my professional experience working with persons with disabilities, I feel the job role rightly fits my ideal work environment.

I hope you will grant me the opportunity to fill this role, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Milo

Which sentences from the passage match each type of figurative language?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

Simile - Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse.

Metaphor - Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air.

Personification - After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face.

Explanation:

A simile, is figure of speech, that makes a comparison between two things, using the words "like", or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse." </em>, that the narrator is comparing how the cat galloped, to the gallop of a racehorse.

A metaphor, is a figure of speech that makes a comparison, <em>without</em> using the words "like" or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air"</em>, that the narrator is comparing Tiger's purr to a chainsaw.

A personification, is figure of speech, in which inanimate objects, are given human attributes. We can see in the sentence, <em>"After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face"</em>, that the personification is, silence slapped her in the face. Because we can't physically feel and touch silence, there is no way that silence could do the same to us.
