Answer:

x = -0.24 or 3.73

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{-b + \sqrt{b^{2} -4ac } }{2a} (There's supposed to be a ± between '-b' and the square root)

x^{2} + 4x + 1 ( ax^{2} + bx + c )

a = -1 ( there's no number before x^{2} so its 1 )

b = 4

c = 1

Substitute into the quadratic equation.

\frac{-4 + \sqrt{4^{2} -4x1x-1 } }{2x-1} ( the x is just the multiplication sign )

=  \frac{-4 + \sqrt{{16} +4 } }{-2}

\frac{-4 + \sqrt{{20} } }{-2} = -0.24    [OR]     \frac{-4 - \sqrt{{20} } }{-2} = 3.73

( The answers are to 2 decimal places )

Solve the “and” compound inequality for –1 < 6x + 1 ≤ 13
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

-1/3 < x <(or equal to) 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly divide your inequality into two separate inequalities...

1) -1 < 6x + 1...then solve for the first one..,which then gives you....;

-2 < 6x....which gives us our first solution (x > -1/3)

Then the second inequality

2) 6x + 1 <(or equal to) 13

which then gives you....,

6x <(or equal to) 12...which then gives our second solution...( x <(or equal to) 2)

Then combine the two solutions into a compound solution

-1/3 < x <(or equal to) 2

Given right triangle ABC which of the following statements must be true? Check all that apply.
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

Option A. <A and <B are complementary angles

Option D. Sin(C)=Cos(90\°-C)

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

If ABC is a right triangle

then

------> by complementary angles

and

Sin(C)=Cos(A)

Cos(C)=Sin(A)

Remember that

A=90\°-C

so

Sin(C)=Cos(90\°-C)

Cos(C)=Sin(90\°-C)
