One of the countries that have not ratified the Kyoto Protocol was the United States.
According to President G.W. Bush, his main reason for refusing to ratify the protocol was because of the impact it would have on the economy of the United States. According to him, the protocol will be a serious harm to the coal industry causing a more dramatic coal to natural gas for electric power generation.
