Which event started the Pequot war
AnnZ [28]
<span>On July 20, 1636, a trader named John Oldham was attacked on a trading voyage to Block Island. He and several of his crew were killed and his ship was looted by Narragansett-allied Indians who sought to discourage English settlers from trading with Pequot rivals. In the weeks that followed, colonial officials from Massachusetts Bay, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, assumed the Narragansett were likely culprits. Puritan officials became equally suspicious of the Narragansett. The colonial English response to Oldham's death, the last in a series of escalating incidents, has traditionally been viewed as the beginning of the Pequot War. How can the President check the actions of the legislative branch?
Vadim26 [7]

The correct answer is veto a bill passed by Congress.

In the American government, there are three branches to the federal government. These include the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Each of these branches has the ability to check the action/power of the other branches.

In this case, the executive branch (aka president) has the ability to stop a bill passed by Congress from becoming a law by using the power of the veto.

8. How did each of the following fight for civil rights?
Sphinxa [80]

this is not worth five points but points are points right :T Elizabeth Ann Eckford is one of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who, in 1957, were the first black students ever to attend classes at the previously all-white Little Rock Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. The integration came as a result of Brown v. Board of Education. Eckford's public ordeal was captured by press photographers on the morning of September 4, 1957, after she was prevented from entering the school by the Arkansas National Guard. A dramatic snapshot by Johnny Jenkins of the United Press showed the young girl being followed and threatened by an angry white mob; this and other photos of the day's startling events were circulated around the US and the world by the press. Rosa Louise McCauley Parks (February 4, 1913 – October 24, 2005) was an American activist in the civil rights movement best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. The United States Congress has called her "the first lady of civil rights" and "the mother of the freedom movement".  Thurgood Marshall (July 2, 1908 – January 24, 1993) was an American lawyer and civil rights activist who served as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from October 1967 until October 1991. Under the Albany Plan of Union, the American colonies would have been ruled by
Trava [24]

Hey there!

Under the Albany Plan of Union, the American colonies would have been ruled by a grand council and a president general. American colonies handled domestic matters, so, they surely didn't really have extreme full power. Which makes it understandable that they would have to have two leaders, to make sure that all 13 colonies are being handled correctly in which they should correspond.

Your answer: a grand council and a president general
