Answer: The era between 1750 and 1914 C.E. was one of clear European hegemony. In the previous era (1450 to 1750 C.E.),
Explanation: Europeans had tilted the balance of world power away from Asia, where powerful civilizations had existed since ancient times. However, despite growing European influence based on sea trade and colonization, major land-based empires in Asia still influenced long-distance trade and shaped political and economic conditions around them. In this era, Europe not only dominated the western hemisphere, as it had in the last, but it came to control the eastern hemisphere as well. How did they do it? Part of the answer lies in a set of discoveries and happenings that together constitute an important "Marker Event" - the Industrial Revolution. Another set of philosophical and political events were equally important - the establishment of democracy as a major element of a new type of political organization - the "nation."
Ancient Greek architecture can be seen throughout the entire world! For example, the ancient Greeks were known for developing three different styles of columns put at the front of buildings. These styles included Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. The Ionic style of columns can be seen on the front of the White House (where the US President resides), the US State Capitol, and the US Supreme Court House.
Besides American architecture, the Ancient Greeks helped to inspire the Roman empire as well. The famous styles of columns created by the Greeks resulted in Romans taking their ideas and modifying them. This is why famous Roman buildings (like the Roman Colosseum) have a similar look/structure when compared to Ancient Greece monuments.
I think that a direct democracy is only workable at a small local level because in big places, there are too many people and a direct democracy cannot take place-
a direct democracy is when yu talk directly about wat yu think and yu express yer opinion that way;
in a smallest local level,every-ones opinion can be heard but it isn't possible when there are too many people; not every-ones opinion will be able to be heard..
so overall; there are too many ppl at the state and national levels to hear every-ones opinion, there needs to be few people to have a direct democracy.
