A farmer kept a pet bear at his farm. The bear was very old and had no teeth, no claws, and very little energy, but people liked

to see the bear when they visited the farmer because no one else in the region had a pet bear. When the farmer first obtained the bear many years ago, he had a large steel cage constructed to house the animal. The cage had an electronic lock that only opened with a security code. Even though the bear was now old and harmless, it was always kept locked in the cage. One night during a severe storm while the farmer was out of town, a bolt of lightning hit the cage and the door opened. The bear left the cage and wandered off. The next morning, a 10-year-old girl was waiting on a rural road for her school bus. The bear emerged from a wooded area about 100 feet from where the girl was standing and headed towards her. She screamed and turned to run, tripping on the road and breaking her arm when she fell. If the girl sues the farmer on a theory of strict liability for her bodily harm, will she prevail

Can moral principles be tested and confirmed in the way
scientific principles can?
lbvjy [14]

In terms of moral principles being testable and confirmable like scientific principles, the answer is that they cannot be tested as scientific principles.

Moral principles are subjective which means that they cannot be tested like scientific principles in that different people might have different principles which may conflict with each other.

Scientific principles on the other hand, are objective and apply regardless of person.

dexar [7]

Senators represent entire states, whereas House members represent individual districts. Each state is represented in Congress by at least one representative.

Who is House Member and Senator ?

The structure, powers, and functions of both houses of Congress affect the policymaking process are mentioned below:

  • Delegated powers necessitate collaboration between both houses of Congress. These powers include the authority to tax, borrow money, regulate commerce, raise an army, create and make rules for federal courts, and so on.
  • The Congress also has the power of the purse, which it can use to influence the president or impose conditions on funding.
  • Because the House of Representatives has 435 members, the process of debating bills is constrained. Because the Senate has only 100 members, there are few rules that govern it.
  • The House Rules Committee is in charge of establishing or revising rules for amending bills. Open rules allow amendments to be added to bills, whereas closed rules do not allow amendments to be added to bills.

All bills that seek to raise funds must begin in the House of Representatives. The House has the authority to impeach, whereas the Senate has the authority to try impeachments. Furthermore, the Senate must approve treaties and presidential appointments such as ambassadors and Supreme Court justices.
