Given:

Three coins are tossed.

To find:

The probability that you will get “heads” no more than once out of 3 flips.

Solution:

If three coins are tossed then the sample space is:

S=\{HHH,HTH,HHT,HTT,THH,TTH,THT,TTT\}

Total possible outcomes = 8

Number of 0 successes means 0 heads in 3 flips, i.e., TTT.

Number of 1 successes means exactly 1 heads in 3 flips, i.e., HTT, THT, TTH.

Now,

P(0\text{ success})=\dfrac{1}{8}

P(1\text{ success})=\dfrac{3}{8}

And, their sum is:

P(0\text{ success})+P(1\text{ success})=\dfrac{1}{8}+\dfrac{3}{8}

P(0\text{ success})+P(1\text{ success})=\dfrac{4}{8}

P(0\text{ success})+P(1\text{ success})=\dfrac{1}{2}

Therefore, the probability that you will get “heads” no more than once out of 3 flips is \dfrac{1}{2}.

The table below shows the ticket rates for whale watching trips offered by Ocean Tours. Age Ticket Price Under three years free
Mamont248 [21]
If there are 40 children aged twelve and under and x of them are under three years old, 40 - x aged three twelve years old. From the 92 people that where taken by the company on whale watching trips, 52 are over twelve years old. The equation that best show the total cost, C is
                                (40 - x)(36) + (52)(48) = C
Rearranging the equation gives,
                                       x = 40 - ((C - 2496)/ 36)

Find the measure of the missing angles.<br> 62°<br> b\co
tiny-mole [99]

The measures of angles B and C are 118° and 62°, respectively.

<h3>What are the measures of two missing angles generated by the intersection of two lines?</h3>

A system of three angles is generated by two lines intersecting each other. In accordance with Euclidean geometry, angle C is opposite to the angle with measure 62° and angle B is supplementary to the same angle.

When two angles are opposite, then both have the same measure, and when two angles are supplementary, then the sum of their measures equals 180°. Therefore, the measures of angles B and C are 118° and 62°, respectively.
