Find the area of ABCD

Mathematics
1 answer:
cricket20 [7]3 years ago
5 0

Answer:

640 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of the area of 2 similar polygons = the ratio of the square of their corresponding lengths

Thus:

Area of Trapezoid ABCD to Area of Trapezoid EFGH = AB² to EF²

Area of Trapezoid ABCD = ? = x

Area of Trapezoid EFGH = 40 cm²

AB = 20 cm

EF = 5 cm

Substitute

x:40 = 20²:5²

x/40 = 400/25

x/40 = 16

Cross multiply

x = 16*40

x = 640

Area of trapezoid ABCD = 640 cm²

X is a negative integer which is the largest<br> 7x+4<br> x-4<br> 5x<br> -5x
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

-5x

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember, if you multiply a negative number by a negative number, you will get a positive number, and positive numbers are greater than negative numbers. In this case, if I were to multiply each of these expressions with -1, I would get the following:

7(-1)+4=-3

-1-4=-5

5(-1)=-5

-5(-1)=5

And I'm sure you can imply how these values will correspond to other negative values. Basically, the last expression gives us a positive answer, which is larger than the others (which give a negative answer).

Two base angles of an isosceles triangle measure (3x + 2) and (5x – 30) degrees. How many degrees are in the third angle of the
joja [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that the base angle of an isosceles triangle is equal hence;

3x+2 = 5x-30

3x - 5x = -30-2

-2x = -32

x = -32/-2

x = 16

Hence one of the base angle = 3(16)+2 = 50degrees

The sum of angle in the triangle is 180, hence

50+50+y = 180

100 + y = 180

y = 80 degrees

Hence the third angle is 80 degrees

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Svetach [21]

\text{Consider the function}\\&#10;\\&#10;y=6\tan(x/2)-3\\&#10;\\&#10;\text{to find the x-intercepts of the graph of the function, we put y=0.}\\&#10;\text{so we get}\\&#10;\\&#10;6\tan(x/2)-3=0\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow 6\tan(x/2)=3\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow \tan(x/2)=\frac{3}{6}\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow \tan(x/2)=\frac{1}{2}\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow \frac{x}{2}=\tan^{-1}\left (\frac{1}{2}  \right )

\Rightarrow \frac{x}{2}\approx 0.4636\\&#10;\\&#10;\text{the period of tangent is }\pi, \text{ so we have}\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow \frac{x}{2}\approx 0.4636+n\pi\\&#10;\\&#10;\Rightarrow x=2( 0.4636+n\pi)\\  \\&#10;\Rightarrow x=0.9273+2n\pi\\&#10;\\&#10;\text{Hence the x-itnercepts of the function are: }(0.9273+2n\pi,\ 0)

Answer:

Well by looking at the products,it must be sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3)

Step-by-step explanation:

but then sodium bicarbonate does not remove permanent hardness of water,that compound is washing soda(Na2CO3) which should not be confused with NaHCO3. So as it would appear,the premise of the question is wrong but there is a compound that reacts with HCl to give those products
