Explanation:

The whole dialogue in the passage is told using reported speech. In other words, it is the narrator who tells us what the characters said, rather than the characters themselves. When using the reported speech, the verb tense often changes into the past. Take a look at the example below:

- Direct speech: Lana said, "I want to be a lawyer."

- Reported speech: Lana said that she wanted to be lawyer.

For that reason, when completing the passage above, it is better if we choose options that use the past instead of the present. We must also pay attention to coherence. If an option mixes both present and past, it is most likely incorrect. Having that in mind, the best way to complete the passage is by using the following:

when he grew up, he wanted

that he would have to study hard

father would have to work hard

What would be most likely to influence public opinion if a local politician had a plan to clean up a park in your town?
FinnZ [79.3K]

If a local politician had a plan to clean up a park in my town he would most likely use the media to influence the public opinion. Television has a high degree of influence since it has great expressive power because it is based on the image and this is very effective to internalize the messages as they get directly into the subconscious. Probably talk about the insecurity that invades public spaces and the need to clean them to enjoy them as a family.
