What Do You Think the mask stand for in Shel Silverstein's poem, "Mask?"

English

Answer:

I believe the title 'Mask' is a symbol for how each individual hides themselves; we all have a mask, a front if you were to say, a shield in a sense. We hide ourselves under this mask because we are uncomfortable and scared about what society and the common norms have to say about us. Humans are afraid to be judged.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
just olya [345]

Answer: C) to make the reader comfortable with the character

Explanation:

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is Mark Twain's 1885 novel about a boy and his journey with a runaway slave down the Mississippi river.

From the very beginning of the novel, Huck (the narrator) speaks in a friendly and uneducated style. His speech often includes grammar mistakes such as 'no' instead of 'any'. Although he lacks proper education, Huck is familiar with the river and nature, and provides detailed, interesting descriptions on this topic.

In this excerpt, Huck invites the readers to accompany him on his journey, regardless of whether they have read the prequel (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer). The use of conversational tone develops trust between the readers and Huck, and differentiates him from adult, often deceitful characters.

What two recurring events in Earth’s history have an impact on the carbon cycle?
Oksanka [162]
Carbon is stored inside plants. When deforestation occurs or any other natural clearing of land, the carbon cycle is changed due to plants being removed that would have captured the CO2 and changed it to oxygen and also by the removal of large plants that store carbon being replaced with either small crops or concrete that do not store carbon. In nature, fossil fuels release carbon very slowly over time, humans burn it at a much greater rate due to dependence on it, and burning fossil fuels emits a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere.
