I went to a very different event in a small town, Mataelpino. It was called "El Boloencierro". Although Matselpino is a small city, El Boloencierro is a large festival with many people from all over the world. The party lasted 6 days where the participants watched a flamenco show, ate paella, and participated in activities for children. I only went on August 24 (the last day). This day is El Boloencierro! I can't explain El Boloencierro as much as a video ... then watch here> SIER The ball was three meters in diameter, weighed over 200 kilos and was made of synthetic materials. Great! This confinement was only for adults. There were like 400 participants and many spectators. There was another race for children. They used a version of the smaller ball. In truth, there were six balls between 30-50 kilos that ran downhill with the supervision of volunteers so that the children were not injured. This year there were two people injured ... one seriously and one not. So it is much safer than the confinement of La Fiesta de San Fermín. Benefits of a Bolus compared to a traditional confinement: It is fairer for the animals It is less expensive for the city There are fewer people injured More people can participate (adults and children)
