Answer:

Listed and compared below

Explanation:

1) Social behavior/laws/administration:

- Minoans: They were a very well organized society and there was largely equality between the men and the women.

The majority of the people were farmers but however there was a quite an impressive middle class which included craftsmen and merchants. Also, they operated an extremely active and effective navy used for commercial activities and also for clashes with the pirates.

In administration, they operated a system that had complicated and effective bureaucracy which was responsible for a lot of their administration issues. The two writing systems in use were Linear A and hieroglyphics systems.

-Mycenaeans: The were also well organized like the minoans in terms of administration elements such as lists of merchandise, ID seals and commercial stations abroad. However, they were a more war oriented society and as such their cities were well protected.

They possessed distinct economic classes such as: the noble class, middle class, farmers and slaves.

Their writing system was Linear B.

2) Religion:

-Minoans: They had female deities they worshiped such as the mother goddess of fertility, the goddess of animals, the goddess that protects of homes & family life e.t.c. Later on, a male god named Zeus was included.

- Mycenaeans: Their religious rituals took place in a public mansion known as Megaron where they all worshipped the Olympian gods.

3) Burials:

-Minoans: Their burials were mainly like communal feasts whereby the deceased were offered gifts by people at an elaborate meal inside or around the tomb. In summary, their burials were usually in communal, family-based chambers.

-Mycenaeans: Initially they were using cist graves but they changed to 3 different types namely: the shaft graves, the tholos tombs, & the chamber tombs. Thus it's clear that they didn’t believe in the afterlife like as the Minoans did in their burial ceremonies.

Name 4 ways Southern Whites prevented African Americans from voting?
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

1) Violence: Blacks who tried to vote were threatened, beaten, and killed. Their families were also harmed. Sometimes their homes were burned down. Often, they lost their jobs or were thrown off their farms.

Whites used violence to intimidate blacks and prevent them from even thinking about voting. Still, some blacks passed the requirements to vote and took the risk. Some whites used violence to punish those “uppity” people and show other blacks what would happen to them if they voted.

2) Literacy tests: Today almost all adults can read. One hundred years ago, however, many people – black and white – were illiterate. Most illiterate people were not allowed to vote. A few were allowed if they could understand what was read to them. White officials usually claimed that whites could understand what was read. They said blacks could not understand it, even when they clearly could.

3) Property tests: In the South one hundred years ago, many states allowed only property owners to vote. Many blacks and whites had no property and could not vote.

4) Grandfather clause: People who could not read and owned no property were allowed to vote if their fathers or grandfathers had voted before 1867. Of course, practically no blacks could vote before 1867, so the grandfather clause worked only for whites.

Explanation: From about 1900 to 1965, most African Americans were not allowed to vote in the South. This was especially true in the Deep South: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.

White people in power used many methods to keep African Americans from voting. Some of these methods also prevented poor white people from voting.

Explain the impact of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 on Natives
prisoha [69]
The Indian Removal Act had many long lasting effects. First, to enforce the Indian Removal Act, Andrew Jackson would have to diobey a direct order from the Supreme Court. Andrew Jackson went through with it anyway and forced the Native Americans to leave their home. I think that had a long lasting effect on the Supreme Court. When people saw that Jackson, the president, didn't care about what the Supreme Court issued then they wouldn't either. The Supreme Court must have been powerless for a long time because of Jackson. Also it was very unfair to the Native Americans. People forget that the land belonged to the natives long before the settlers showed up. To make the many native people move from their homeland isn't right. Still, they had to walk the trail of tears where thousands of natives died from starvation, diesease, and other factors. When people saw how the Native Americans were being forced away the might have decided that the Native Americans were savage. They became afraid of the Native Americans and pressured the federal government to bother the natives more.
