Amelia launched her science fair rocket, and then backed away. The path of the rocket is given by the equation below, where y is
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

1)The rocket hit the ground at     x = \frac{5}{4}

2)The maximum height of the rocket = 12.468 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Step(i):-</em></u>

Given equation

                y = -2 x² + 5 x + 7 ...(i)

Differentiating equation (i) with respective to 'x' , we get

             \frac{dy}{dx} = -2( 2x) +5(1) =  -4x +5

Equating zero

            \frac{dy}{dx} = 0

⇒      -4 x +5 =0

⇒      -4 x = -5

⇒          x = \frac{5}{4}

<em> The rocket hit the ground at     </em>x = \frac{5}{4}<em></em>

<u><em>Step(ii):</em></u>-

    \frac{dy}{dx}  =  -4x +5  ...(ii)

Again differentiating equation (ii) with respective to 'x' , we get

 \frac{d^{2} y}{dx^{2} }  = - 4(1)

The maximum height at x = \frac{-5}{4}

  y = -2 x² + 5 x + 7

 y = -2 (\frac{5}{4})^{2}  + 5 (\frac{5}{4} )  + 7

y = \frac{-2(25)+ 25 (16)+7(64)}{64}

y = \frac{798}{64} = 12.468 feet

<em>The maximum height of the rocket = 12.468 feet</em>

Jane's cell phone plan is $58 each month plus $0.20 per minute for each minute over 200 minutes of call time. Jane's cell phone
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer: 45 minutes more than 200

Step-by-step explanation:

So for every minute over 200 jane has to pay 0.20 cents per additional minute. The equation we can use is $58+0.20m=$67 where m is the amount of minutes after 200 jane has to pay 20 cents per

58+0.20m=67

0.20m=9

m=45

So Jane was billed for 45 minutes over 200 minutes last month. so in total 245 minutes and she was charged for the extra 45 minutes

Simplify. Assume x and y are no negative
erica [24]

7\sqrt{50x^{15}y^{21}}=7\sqrt{25\cdot2x^{14+1}y^{20+1}}=7\sqrt{25}\cdot\sqrt{x^{14}}\cdot\sqrt{y^{20}}\cdot\sqrt{2xy}\\\\=7(5)\sqrt{(x^7)^2}\cdot\sqrt{(y^{10})^2}\cdot\sqrt{2xy}=35x^7y^{10}\sqrt{2xy}\\\\Used:\\\\\sqrt{ab}=\sqrt{a}\cdot\sqrt{b}\\\\\sqrt{a^2}=a\\\\a^n\cdot a^m=a^{nm}\\\\(a^n)^m=a^{nm}
