Appearance can be deceptive. Write a PQC to validate this statement basing your argument on John Steinbeck’s The pearl

English
1 answer:
nikdorinn [45]3 years ago
5 0

Answer:

Things are not always as they seem. The outward appearance of someone or something may conceal their true nature or intentions. When Kino finds a beautiful pearl he hopes to sell it and improve his family's life but instead his old life is ruined even further...

Explanation:

we do not expect the priest to join the bandwagon of people trying to exploit Kino for his wealth. Priests ostensibly represent virtues. When he hears the news about Kino's pearl while walking in his garden he immediately thinks about necessary repairs in the church.

Match the sentence to the word which completes it correctly. 1. The manner in which action is presented indicates verb _____. mo
Fittoniya [83]

I see you've already provided the answers. I will just add an explanation.

Answer:

1. The manner in which action is presented indicates verb mood.

2. Time of action is indicated by verb tense.

3. Whether the subject names the actor or the receiver is determined by voice.

Explanation:

The mood of a verb concerns the way it is expressed, the attitude of the speaker. For instance, if the speaker wishes to convey a fact, he will use the indicative mood. If he wishes to command or request, he will use the imperative mood.

Verb tense expresses a connection between the verb and the time when the action took place. If the speaker talks about something that happened yesterday, he will use the past tense. If he addresses something that will happen tomorrow, he will use the future tense.

Finally, voice expresses the relationship between the action described by the verb and the subject. If the subject is the one performing the action, we use the active voice. If the subject is the one suffering or receiving the action, we need to use the passive voice.

10 points. Will mark brainliest.
Tatiana [17]

I would estimate that the first one is the answer.

I looked up the summary(s) for both the passages, and 'to build a fire' is about a guy who despite everything being against him, being persistent and dying because of his actions, while 'gumption' is about the hardships of african americans.

Of course, this is just my estimation.
