Pocahontas and John Rolfe
A flat fee, also referred to as a flat rate or a linear rate, refers to a pricing structure that charges a single fixed fee for a service, regardless of usage. Rarely, it may refer to a rate that does not vary with usage or time of use. Another term used is "flate", a hybrid of "flat" and "rate".
We stood on the deck of "The Labrador" as it sailed amoung he many waves. We were on a voyage to China, and our journey had only begun. The ship's motion was making me feel like the ship was going to drown. Luckily, "The Labrador" was prepared with life jackets, which was a major bonus. Seven months later, we began to approach a land mass. I wondered if that land mass could possibly be Asia. If it was, we were in luck. China was located in Asia. As we sailed closer, I began to feel as if we were going to accomplish our goal. I realized we had finally reached China. As I stepped onto the foreign grounds of China, I realized that I missed the comforting motion of the waves under the ship's floor.
Answer:
The example he gives is that if humans disappeared from the earth, nature would find a way to re-establish itself and little by little it would destroy things that are important to humans.
Explanation:
According to Weisman, a large part of our physical infrastructure would begin to collapse almost immediately. Without street maintenance teams, our great boulevards and highways would begin to crack and to become dull in a matter of months. In the following decades, many homes and commercial buildings would collapse, but some common items would withstand degradation for an unusually long time. Stainless steel pans, for example, could last for millennia, especially if they were buried in the prehistoric sites weeded in which our kitchens would become. And certain common plastics would remain intact for hundreds of thousands of years, not decomposing until microbes evolved to acquire the ability to consume them.
