How do you draw pretty cartoonish eyes simply?

First off, I reallyyy recommend watching some tutorials.
To draw cartoon eyes, first draw the outline. See first picture attached.
Then, draw the uhmm eye? Draw lightly where highlights will be, cuz you'll make those parts lighter later (if ur drawing with pencil and paper). Look at the second picture.
Next, add base colors.
Add darker ones at the top, lighter at the bottom.
Do highlights (if doing digitally). Make sure to sketch where you want the highlights to be ahead of time if your doing pencil and paper drawing because erasing crayon, colored pencil, or marker if HARD. You don't have to worry about this if you add highlights with an opaque pen.
Optional: You can color the lineart a little if you're doing it digitally. You can also make the top shiny, but I usually don't.
