Formulate the floods hypothesis
bazaltina [42]

Explanation:

Hypothesis: Floods most often occur near large rivers. After plotting out the recent floods from the data we collected, we found that most of the floods we found were in the United States. Therefore, we decided to plot just on the U.S. so we would better be able to see the individual straights and rivers that exist and see if our hypothesis would hold up. After we did plot the floods, we found that almost all of them fell near a river, especially on the Mississippi River. This makes sense because if water levels rise due to rainfall or another cause, a flood can easily occur. Some of our recorded floods occurred not on a river but instead on Lake Michigan including the flood that occurred in Milwaukee and Chicago. For all of the other recorded floods though, we were able to prove our hypothesis because all of the floods fall near major rivers that exist in the United States. Though some of the floods

Eruptions emitted through elongate cracks at the surface, as opposed to through the vents of volcanic cones, are termed ________
Elza [17]

Answer:

Fissure eruptions

Explanation:

A fissure vent or eruption fissure is a linear volcanic vent from which lava erupts mostly without explosive activity. The vent is usually not very wide but can be very long stretching for miles. While they do not explode like many volcanic cones do, fissure vents can cause large flood basalts. After some time the eruption builds up spatter cones and may concentrate on one or some of them. Spatter cones are steep-sided hills that consist of welded lava fragments that are called spatter and these cones form around vents.
