Answer:

The theme of sharing memories is important in literature, as the goal of writing is to preserve memory so that it can be shared collectively.

The issue of memory is integral to two major works of dystopic literature that inform The Giver, which are 1984 and Brave New World. Both societies depicted are centrally concerned with erasing memory so that citizens live in a perpetual fragmented present that is cut off from past and future.

Hello. This question asks you to write an interpretive essay based on the quote presented. An interpretive essay should be written based on your personal perception of that quote. for that reason, I can't write the essay for you, but I can show you how this essay can be written and that's what I'm going to do.

The quote shown in the question shows us how authors, even if they are no longer alive, are able to communicate with each other through their works and show us real and current information about life and society. Based on this, you can write your essay showing how there are books, written in the past that manage to present something of today's society.

An example of a literary work you can use in this essay is the poem "The Raven" written by Edgar Alan Poe. You can quickly read and interpret and show a parallel between this poem and the discussion of mental health we have today.

Based on this, you can write your essay as follows:

 1. Introduction: You will quickly present your opinion regarding the capacity of literature to be timeless, that is, to be current at any time. In addition to showing why she has this ability.
 2. Body: You will write two paragraphs. In the first paragraph, you will show the literary work that you interpreted and that you want to discuss in the text. In this same paragraph, you will show how the author developed this work and which literary techniques used make this work so relevant. In the second paragraph, you will show how this work is current, how it fits into our society, even though it was written in the past.
 3. Conclusion: You will show your final reasoning about literature and current events and how this should be maintained for the next generations.

Hemingway is known for his journalistic writing style. Which of these excerpts is an example of that style?
Vinvika [58]

The correct answer is option A ("What I will do if he decides to go down, I don't know. What I'll do if he sounds and dies I don't know. But I'll do something. There are plenty of things I can do").

We refer to journalistic style in writing as the use of certain devices, structures and resources that are most commonnly associated with news articles, chronicles and similar kinds of pieces. They can be easily identified for the use of short sentences and paragraphs that have a very straight-forward feel to them. The message often feels urgent and we get the sense that the author is trying to quickly make their point.

Example "A" presents many of these features while none of the others are brief or to-the-point at all.

Hope this helps!
