Why is charles darwin's theory more convincing than Lamarck’s theory?

Darwin's: ... Scientists find Darwin's theory more convincing because it better explains the observed data and physical evidence. There is no evidence to support Lamarck's theory (that acquired traits might be passed on to offspring) and much evidence that genetic mutations may be passed on.

Assume that the kidney stone in question has reached the bladder. What is the pathway of exit for this stone (i.e. what anatomic
sasho [114]

Answer:

Here's what I get

Explanation:

From your bladder, the pathway of exit to the outside is through the urethra.

The diameter of the female urethra is about 6 mm. The male urethra is usually a bit larger.

Kidney stones can vary in size from 0.1 mm to over 40 mm in size.

Stones less than about 6 mm in size can usually pass through the urethra on their own with little or no pain.

Larger stones can be excruciatingly painful. The urethra cannot expand enough for them to pass through. Such stones usually need medical treatment to be removed.

When the p53 gene is damaged, which event may happen?A. Cells can divide uncontrollablyB. Cells will fix the DNA pass the G1 che
Rudik [331]

Answer: A. Cells can divide uncontrollably.

Explanation:

If the p53 gene is damaged, tumor suppression is reduced. A cell with damaged DNA may proceed with its division. The daughter cells produced are likely to inherit mutations due to the unrepaired DNA of their mother cell. Over many generations, cells tend to accumulate mutations. These mutations result in a p53 protein, and DNA damage can accumulate in cells which means it will not able to control cell proliferation because it is unable to trigger apoptosis. Such cells may continue to divide in an uncontrolled way, leading to tumor growth. This means people who inherit only one functional copy of the gene (or none) will most likely develop tumors.
