During the early nineteenth century, the South was distinct from the rest of the United States due to several reasons.
These reasons include:
1- The increase in the number of slaves
2- The race superiority and the bridge (gap) that was found between the races
3- The distribution of the crops
4- The "Peculiar Institution" which is a term that referred mainly to the system of slavery that existed in the South during this period.

It depends the time, pre WW1, white men. After WW1, woman and black people because all the white men were drafted in the war
The convention of 1786 was actually called the Annapolis convention and its goal was to discuss and develop a consensus about reversing the protectionist trade barriers that each state had erected. The Constitutional Convention happened in 1787 and its goal was to revise the Articles of Confederation.
