Drag each label to the correct location on the diagram. Each label can be used more than once, but not all labels will be used.

 • See attached image for the diagram of being referred to

Answer/Explanation:

In the diagram showing a typical food chain in an ecosystem, the arrow that connects the sun to plants represents the flow of radiant energy. The sunlight produces radiant energy, of which producers, such as plants, converts into chemical energy through photosynthesis.

The next arrow linking the plants to the rodent shows the flow of chemical energy in plants to primary consumers, such as rodents, who feed on them.

Also, rodents, when preyed upon by secondary consumers, such as wolfs and owls, pass on the same chemical energy to them. So the arrows connecting the rodent to owl, and to the wolf both show the transfer of chemical energy from the rodent to the owl and wolf.

The next arrow shows the transfer of thermal energy from the wolf to the environment, as the wolf release heat from the body resulting from daily functions it performs, and also, thermal energy is released to the surroundings as heat during the decomposition of the body of an animal.

The arrow linking the wolf to the decomposer which break down the body and waste of the wolf represents transfer of chemical energy to the decomposer, as they break chemical bonds to obtain the energy they need to survive and grow.

Reproductive isolating mechanisms are divided into categories based on when they act. _____ isolating factors prevent fertilizat
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer: (B) Pre-zygotic; post-zygotic.

Explanation:

Prezygotic isolation occurs before fertilization of eggs. It occurs between the two sex gametes and deter sexual reproduction between different species.

However, individuals are considered to be diverge on the phylogeny tree and different species, when they cannot reproduce.

Mechanisms of prezygotic isolation include habitat isolation, gamete isolation, mechanical isolation, behavioral isolation, and mating seasons.

Whereas, postzygotic isolation prevents the formation of fertile offspring. This phenomenon leads to production of an hybrid offspring from different species and this is a form of speciation in nature.

Mechanisms of postzygotic isolation include hybrid inviability, hybrid breakdown, and hybrid sterility.

How are rocks DIFFERENT from minerals?
ArbitrLikvidat [17]
A mineral is a naturally occurring, inorganic compound with a unique chemical structure and physical properties. A rock is a solid, stony mass composed of a combination of minerals or other organic compounds. For example, quartz and feldspars are minerals, but when formed together, they make a rock, granite.

Which of the following statements about grey matter is true?
Vinvika [58]
The possible answers are :
A. it makes up the outer layer of the brain
B. it's composed of an axon.
C. it transmits nerve signals from one area of the CNS to another.
D. it's composed of dendrites

The correct answers are A and D

The gray matter of the brain is made out of nerve cell bodies, dendrites, and unmyelinated axons. The outer layer of the brain's cortex is made out of the gray matter and the inner layers are made out of white matter.
The white matter is made out of myelinated axons that transmit nerve signals throughout the nervous system. The white matter is white because the myelin that surrounds the axons is white.
