I would say the correct answer is A. Soldiers who did not speak English were given language training before entering combat. Actually, those soldiers really had to know only the commands, and they gradually learned other words and expressions on the front. There were many soldiers who didn't speak English but fought with the Anglo-American forces - from Indians to Russian Jews, to different immigrants. So, the so-called "trench slang" emerged, which combined English with French words, and even created completely new ones.

The right answer is A because in History class I learned that the soldiers that did not speak English had to take special training, even after that they were not let into battles.
