According to history, Ibn al-Haytham was born in the year 965, in the Iraqi town of Basra.  He wrote his Book of Optics while in prison.  Later, he relocated to Cairo, where he died in 1040. Today, he is recognized as one of the earliest scientists to study the characteristics of light and the mechanism and process of vision and photography. Widely known in the West as Alhacen or Alhazen, Ibn al-Haytham carried out practical experiments on optics in his Book of Optics, thereby making significant contributions in the field of optics, mathematics, and astronomy.

The U.S often thinks that other cultures in foren places are dirty and unclean. For example (not trying to offend anyone) India. In history books we learn India is a dirty ruel place where stds run ramped. Im reality it is just a diffrent way of living. However, the U.S does not force other foren cultures to integrat into ours.
