The correct answer is A) declaring Nebraska to be free territory.

The Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 contained all of the following provisions, except declaring Nebraska to be a free territory.

The Kansas-Nebraska Act contained the creation of two new federal territories, repealing the antislavery provision of the Missouri Compromise, allowing voters and territorial legislatures to decide the slavery issue for themselves, and creating popular sovereignty as a method of compromise.

The basic element of the Kansas-Nebraska Act was that this legislation allowed people to decide if slavery was going to be authorized in the state. This created more and more confrontation between the northern and the southern states to the degree of being one of the causes that started teh American Civil War.

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

There is no question here, just a statement.

So we can just comment on the following.

It is true that "The Constitution . . . Meant that its coordinate branches should be checks on each other. But the opinion which gives to the judges the right to decide what laws are constitutional and what not, not only for themselves in their own sphere of action but for the Legislature and Executive also in their spheres, would make the Judiciary a despotic (dictatorial and oppressive) branch."

That is what the United States President Thomas Jefferson commented on September 11, 1804. What he tried to express with that quote, answering to Abigail Adams was that, according to the US Constitution,  the judicial branch, and more specifically, its judges, could decide on the constitutionality of some legislation, but only to advise the Executive and Legislative branch.

What artifical boundary seperated parts of the north from part of the south in the eastern parts of the country
sesenic [268]

The artificial boundary that seperates North from South is called the Mason Dixon Line. The line was surveyed by Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon in 1763-1767 to resolve a border dispute between Maryland, Pennsylvania and Deleware. The line still serves as the demarcation line between these states. It also seperated Notherrn and Southern states during the Civil War.
