Imagine yourself going through a typical day. You would encounter situations that would require substances to be generated by yo

ur body to maintain homeostasis. Write a fictional description of a day in your life. You may also choose to write about someone else if you would like too (maybe a movie star or superhero). During that day, describe three situations that would cause the glands of the endocrine and exocrine systems to release hormones or substances to help maintain homeostasis. Describe what substance would be released from what gland and the effect that it would have.

An example of exocrine gland is sweat. When we exercise or we are in a hot area, our body heats up and to bring our body into its normal temperature, we sweat out to release the heat from our bodies.

In endocrine system glands, adrenaline is an example of its produced hormones. It is released when we are faced with a stressful situation. It and other hormones help us face and overcome the stress we are dealing with thus making the inner workings of our bodies in a stable condition.

Three examples of a day in my life:

1) My early morning workout consists of cardio - such as running and biking for multiple miles. This causes my body to activate my sweat glands. My sweat glands are activated in order for my body to secrete sweat, excrete waste, and regulate water, salt, and temperature. This is an example of the exocrine system in action.

2) After my workout, I eat breakfast. In order to digest my breakfast, my pancreas will be activated. The function of my pancreas is to secrete pancreatic juice that contains enzymes, and aid in digestion. This is another example of the excocrine system.

3) After the rest of my day, it's time to go to bed. In order for me to feel tired, my body releases melatonin. This is done by the pineal gland. The pineal gland is responsible for secreting melatonin, and regulating the sleep cycle and other biological rhythms.

I answered it on edge2020, and got it right. Hope it helps! :)

Neko [114]

Answer:

Chromosomes contain genes, which help to determine an organism's traits. Genes come in alternate forms called alleles. The actual gene combination that an organism receives from its parents is called its genotype, while the trait that gets expressed as a result is referred to as its phenotype. If an offspring receives the same type of allele for a given gene from each parent, it is said to be h o m o z y g o u s. If the alleles differ, it is h e t e r o z y g o u s.

Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

Genetic alteration probably refers to altering the DNA sequence present in the genes of chromosomes.

Explanation:

Genetic alternation occurs when the DNA of an organism gets altered due to any circumstance. Even a change in a single nucleotide can have devastating effects on the organism. It can occur due to mutations or physical factors like radiation, UV etc. Genetic alternations can be useful as well as harmful. Genetic alternation is also a source due to which variations might arise in a population and hence, it leads to biodiversity.
