The decision was risky because the U.S didn't know what laid on those borders towards the west coast and had to have that whole area explored and mapped, they bought it without knowing what the area was like.

So the president could have bought useless land and they wouldnt have known it, luckily it wasnt lol

The treaty of Versailles was established in 1919, after the great war. Germany was severely punished at the end by the allied powers.

in my opinion this is unfair because Germany gets all the blame and had to pay a lot of money in reparations when clearly there are other countries involved in the central powers who also took part in the war- like Austria- Hungary. Germany had no voice in this matter which caused Germans to be mad. this lead to the rise of Adolf Hitler which started WWII.
