It was one of the largest millitary campaigns of the Vietnam War, it started in 1968, by forces of the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese People´s army of Vietnam against the forces of the South Vietnamese Army of the Republic of Vietnam and the United States Armed Forces, and their allies.

This offensive was the largest military operation conducted by either side up to that point in the war.

The offensive had a huge impact on the U.S government and shocked the US public. Soon, the American public support declined and the US started a series of negotiations to end war.
