Answer:

In the story "Rules of the Game" by Amy Tan's the conflict is mainly external, man vs. man or, more like daughter vs. mother. Waverly and her mother seem to never understanding each other's and how they both feel. That is very clear toward the end of the story, when the mother proudly introduces Waverly to everyone, even strangers, on the street. Waverly is a sort of child prodigy, a chess genius, and her mother can't help but display her. It does not sit right with Waverly that she is being exhibited. So it makes since that she would be reacting in a way that is disrespectful and offensive, to her mother.

The main idea of the memoir "Gumption" is that motivation is kind of like gumption which is also the theme of the story. The author goes into this meaning within the story. His mother motivates him for everything he does and tells the main character not to give up in any chance saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." This quote creates the main idea of the whole story. This quote is a huge motivation for the author. Also, another motivating quote is when she said, "Buddy, maybe you could be a writer." That is also an encouragement which all goes back and connects with the main idea and theme "never give up."

Answer:

Stephon is writing an essay that compares and contrasts the way in which characters from two different texts face obstacles in their lives. The two characters he is comparing and contrasting are Manjiro from Heart of a Samurai and William, the narrator of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. The preparation was complete, so I waited. The muscles in my arms still burned from having worked so hard, but now I was finished.

They spun slowly at first, then faster and faster, until the force of their motion rocked the tower. My knees buckled, but I held on.

I started wasting time in the trading center playing bawo. Someone also taught me a wonderful game called chess, which I started playing every day.

No more skipping breakfast; no more dropping out of school. With a windmill, we’d finally release ourselves from the troubles of darkness and hunger.Stephon is writing an essay that compares and contrasts the way in which characters from two different texts face obstacles in their lives. The

What did Edgar Allan Poe mean when he said a literary piece must create a unity of effect on a reader
astra-53 [7]
D. That all aspects of the piece should work together to create a certain effect

To create a "unity of effect" on the reader, it should have a certain effect on the reader. Like a really sad and depressing book should not exactly make the reader sad, but to feel the parts of the book that spoke out to the reader.

Answer:

it shows the African art is always abstract

Explanation:

We can see above, a description of how African art represents the human body in a non-literal way, but uses elements that represent the body and allow those who observe this work of art to interpret the meaning of the elements used and to be able to perceive the representation of the body.

This is a way of presenting abstract art. This is because this type of art aims to present a non-literal representation, but with elements that relate to the represented object.
