Submit your choice of an essay or an oral presentation on slavery and how it affected Harriet Tubman's life work; include MLA fo
maw [93]

Answer:

Explanation:

Harriet Tubman was an escaped enslaved woman who became a “conductor” on the Underground Railroad, leading enslaved people to freedom before the Civil War, all while carrying a bounty on her head. But she was also a nurse, a Union spy and a women’s suffrage supporter. Tubman is one of the most recognized icons in American history and her legacy has inspired countless people from every race and background.

Harriet’s desire for justice became apparent at age 12 when she spotted an overseer about to throw a heavy weight at a fugitive. Harriet stepped between the enslaved person and the overseer—the weight struck her head.

She later said about the incident, “The weight broke my skull … They carried me to the house all bleeding and fainting. I had no bed, no place to lie down on at all, and they laid me on the seat of the loom, and I stayed there all day and the next.”

Essay Question: Explain the theme of Romeo and Juliet and how it is developed throughout the play.
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

In short, it was the courtship between two young, star-crossed lovers that caused six deaths.

Legitimate Answer:

By the end of the play, Juliet had developed her own independence away from her parents, and dare I say, she's become a bit rebellious. Romeo gains maturity and confidence out of his desire for Juliet. But Shakespeare was an ideal tragedy maker, if both had ignored their want for eahother, they'd walk away from the foolish, love-starved thoughts that clouded their heads. The main themes are loyalty, Romeo's loyalty to Juliet. Love between the two, and hate, disdain, and distrust between the two families. Greed by both families and the young Lovers themselves. Violence, in the blood and gore of the fights between the two families and in-the-middle friends, and tragedy, of course, for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet each in their own. The theme(s) was Tragedy and Insanity.

Off the record, do not include this in the answer, if you ever want to be a theater teacher, student, or any sort of writer, be it song, play, or novel, you should learn that this question is ridiculous, I mean, no offence, but Shakespeare was a playwright, and a legendary one at that, he was known for multiple themes in a single play, not singular themes for a single play. This question might as well be considered subversive.

In his speech, Steve Jobs presents several elements of pathos. Write down five of the examples that involve Jobs' use of pathos
lara [203]

Answer:

READ BELOW

Explanation:

As i dont have the text i have a very useful explanation. The meaning of pathos is a attempt to sway an audience emotionally, so the question is saying that Steve Jobs presents SEVERAL elements of pathos, (meaning in the text or article Jobs is presenting a lot of feeling towards the reader) so you have to find 5 examples of pathos that Steve has shown or written in the text, for example, (a quick sentence that would be placed in a pathos poem)"you look around in confusion as the crowd laughs, with thoughts of regretion. That was me standing there..."
