kirill [66]
A delta fibers can rapidly transmit pain information to the brain because alpha delta fiber is a type of sensory nerve fiber. Aδ fibers carry cold, pressure and some pain signals. Because Aδ fibers are thinly myelinated, they send impulses faster than unmyelinated C fibers, but more slowly than other, more thickly myelinated "A" class fibers.

In the fluid-mosaic model of the plasma membrane, the phospholipid molecules are oriented so that the _____________ heads are fa
saveliy_v [14]

Answer:

Hydrophilic heads facing exterior

Hydrophobic tails facing interior

Explanation:

In 1972, the fluid mosaic model was proposed to describe the structure of the plasma membrane. This model describes the plasma membrane to possess components including phospholipids, cholesterol and proteins. The phospholipid component is composed of glycerol, two fatty acids and a phosphate-containing head, which are arranged in two adjacent layers forming the phospholipid bilayer in the membrane of biological organisms.

Phospholipids have both the hydrophilic and hydrophobic region. Hence they are said to be AMPHIPATHIC.

The head of the phospholipid is negatively charged due to its phosphate content, making it polar and hydrophilic i.e. water-loving. This hydrophilic head faces the exterior of the cell in order to interact with fluids.

The tails of the phospholipid are long fatty acids that keep away from water i.e. hydrophobic. Due to their water-fearing nature, they avoid water and face the interior of the cell, where each tail face each other.

Give me seven facts about biospheres
abruzzese [7]
The sum of and interaction between all living beings. The biosphere is the global ecological system integrating all living organisms and their relationships. The interaction with the elements of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere is also included. The biosphere, we know today, has evolved for 3.5 billion years. The biosphere covers most of the planet and stretches from the deep ocean to the highest mountain tops. Microorganisms also live deep beneath the surface of the Earth. The biosphere is divided into different biomes. Each of these consist of species that are related in their ability to cope with a specific climate. Biomes are separated by latitude. Arctic and Antacrtic biomes are vastly different from tropical biomes, for example.Climate change influences the distribution of these biomes and to some extent displaces them. The biosphere is an important reservoir in the carbon cycle and has a very significant impact on climate through release and removal of CO2 from the atmosphere.
