In which way did military and economic problems Interact in the decline of the Byzantine empire
weeeeeb [17]
Military and economic problems have always been strongly intertwined and this wasn't any different in the times of the Byzantine Empire where vast expanses of land had to be readily monitored and guarded. This was obviously a severe financial undertaking which had to be funded. Dee to lack of money with time, the borders weren't as defended as they were in the past

Spartan soldiers helped save retreating members of the Greek army at the Battle of Marathon. at the Battle of Thermopylae. again
bixtya [17]
I'm somewhat confused at this question, but will give my best to answer it.

Spartan soldiers helped save retreating members of the Greek army:

against a force of three hundred Persian troops - this surely is false, as there never was a three hundred strong Persian force.

against the strength of the Athenian navy - this doesn't make much sense either, as the Athenian navy was Greek, so there's no reason for Spartan soldiers to defend greeks against the Athenian navy.

at the Battle of Marathon - the Spartans were not involved in this battle as they were celebrating a religious festival at the time.

The most likely answer is therefore at the Battle of Thermopylae, where a small Spartan contingent of soldiers stayed to defend the frontiers of their borders in order to enable the rest of the army that was with them at the time, to retreat.

lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

The Dred Scott vs. Sandford case could effect the presidential campaign of 1860 because candidates would have to know address whether or not slavery would be allowed in Northern states. Since this case stated that slaves are property and can be brought into free territories, this greatly effects the Northern states who already outlawed slavery. Based on the Supreme Court ruling, the states would have to abide by this law. Now, presidential candidates must answer the question of whether or not they will allow slavery to exist in all states in the US.
