A student was asked to draw an aggregate demand and aggregate supply graphLOADING... to illustrate the effect of an increase in
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer: The correct answer is option B; The student’s analyses is correct.

Explanation: A shift to the right of the supply curve indicates an increase in the aggregate supply or total market supply (which is due to certain factors). Producers only do this provided there would be an increase in market price. However, the equilibrium price would fall from P1 to P2. This follows the law of demand, that is, the higher the price the lower the quantity demanded.”

The fall in price would result in a new equilibrium price, P2. At this lower price level, consumers aggregate demand would also experience an increase, shown by a shift to the right in the demand curve. A new equilibrium price P3, would again be reached which would be convenient for both consumers and producers.

It is important to note that rational consumer behavior is such that a slight increase in price would discourage buying and vice versa. On the other hand, a rational producer is out to make profit and so a slight increase in price would encourage them to supply more and vice versa. Hence if the producers supply curve shifts to the right (an increase), it only means there is a price increase and if the consumers respond by reducing quantity demanded, then there has to be a new meeting point (new equilibrium price).

That explains the fall from equilibrium price P1 to equilibrium price P3.

Natural selection will eliminate any bad traits, because these traits will cause the extinction of the whole species
Maru [420]
This statement is not true. Natural selection does not automatically wipe out bad traits and leads to extinction of affected species. During the process of natural selection, species having disadvantageous traits are usually eliminated but if the selection pressure is not strong enough then some bad traits will escape elimination and continue to exist.

On December 12, 2018, an investment costing $87,000 was sold for $114,000. The total of the sale proceeds was credited to the in
Xelga [282]

Answer:

(1) Journal entry to correct the error assuming it is discovered before the books are adjusted or closed in 2018:

Dr Investment           27,000

Cr Gain on sales      27,000

(2) Journal entry to correct the error assuming it is not discovered until early 2019

Dr Investment               27,000

Cr Retained Earning  27,000

Explanation:

As the firm was credit on the sales proceed of $114,000 into investment account while it should be credited $87,000, the investment proceed is understated by $27,000 ( 87,000 - 114,000). So, under both (1) and (2) assumption, Investment needs to raise up ( Dr) by $27,000.

The $27,000 understated in the Investment should go into (Credit) Gain on sales account. Thus, Gain on Sales account is also understated by $27,000. With different assumption (1) and (2) given, we have:

- (1) As the year 2018 is not yet closed, Gain on sales account has not been transferred into Retained Earning account yet. Thus, we adjusted directly in the Gain on sales account.

- (2) As the year 2018 was already closed, Gain on sales account has been transferred into Retained Earning account. Thus, we adjusted the Retained Earning account.

Current GAAP requires the allocation of total share-based compensation cost to expense on a straight-line basis over the vesting
Lisa [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is True.

Explanation:

Cost allocations move costs and revenues between cost types, cost centers and cost objects. You can define as many assignments as you need. Each assignment consists of:

- An origin assignment.

- One or more assignment destinations.

The allocation source establishes what costs should be allocated, and the allocation destinations determine where the costs should be allocated. For example, an origin of allocation may be the costs of the type of cost Electricity and Heating. Assign all electricity and heating costs to three cost centers: Workshop, Production and Sales. These cost centers are the allocation destinations.

For each assignment source, you can define an assignment level, a validity period and a variant as a group identifier. You can use a batch job to define filters to select assignment definitions and then run cost assignments automatically.

Dawnell is a skilled dancer. She is currently teaching modern dance full time for three high schools and makes $44,000 a year. S
Troyanec [42]

Answer: d. a two year opportunity cost of $40,000 after leaving her teaching position.

Explanation:

Hi, to answer this we have to analyze the information given.

The difference between teaching modern dance and joining a touring dance company per year is:

  • $44,000- $24,000 = $20,000

We simply subtracted the earnings per year at the touring dance company to the earnings per year of teaching modern dance.

The opportunity cost per year is $20,000.

Since she is joining the touring dance company for 2 years, the opportunity cost is:

  • 20,000 x 2 = 40,000

Dawnell’s decision will result in a two-year opportunity cost of $40,000 after leaving her teaching position. (option d)
