I don’t what happened be regarding to this mess of domestic of World War Two
The answer is because United States was concerned about crimes against humanity being committed there. They were also concerned that Spain would have power so close to US territory.
They believe that Europe should be first because if Hitler
were to defeat Russia, the Germans would now turn their full might on Britain
who has sustained so much destruction during the course of the war. If Hitler
conquered Britain, he would have control of all Europe and America would be
isolated.
