Rosa Parks was a black woman who refused to give up her bus seat for a white man on Montgomery and as a result of her action, she was thrown out of the bus. Back then, open racism and discrimination was rife.
Rosa Parks led a march into Birmingham and subsequent bus boycott and her actions were very important in the battle for the civil rights movement.
