Though unemployment during the great depression was widespread, it was higher in some parts of the united states than in others.

A geographer uses unemployment data points to make a map, while an economic historian arranges data about state-by-state unemployment levels into a table. What information might a geographer be able to convey more clearly than the economic historian?

A geographer would be able to convey a more detailed account of the unemployment data. The economic historian is stuck with the data for each state, but the geographer could go deeper and show the data for small towns, villages, and cities. If a person needs data for a region within a state, the geographer's map is more suitable.

The correct answer is D) The relative sizes of the areas affected by each level of unemployment.

The information might a geographer be able to convey more clearly than the economic historian is the relative sizes of the areas affected by each level of unemployment.

A geographer study the land, the region, the natural resources of different places, and the people who lived in those regions and how they are affected by the environment, mountains, rivers, lakes, and the soil. They also study the economic, political and culture of these places and how people are influenced by them. That is why the geographer can establish the areas affected by each level of unemployment during the Great Depression in the United States that began in October 1929, after the crash of the US stock market.

The other options of the question were A) The percentage of each state’s population that was unemployed, B) The level of unemployment in each state; and C) The years when unemployment was worst in each area.

Why would the U.S. import bananas from Honduras instead of growing them in the U.S.?
Ilya [14]

Answer: The U.S. banana companies were never allowed ownership of the large acreage that they farmed in Honduras, since such land’s ownership was prohibited ownership to foreigners. They did have a long term arrangement for use of the land for growing/exporting bananas, but each box of bananas exported was taxed $1.00 or more.

Pls help I didn't get to watch the instructions so I can't figure it out
Gwar [14]

Answer:

To give the reader an idea of the complicated work required for the garment's worker's strike.

Explanation:

This passage is quite complicated. That is because the needs of the strike organizers were complicated as well. First, the speakers had to be found to report the progress of the strike back to the workers. Then, a fund would also have to be raised for strikers so they can access help with legal and personal problems. It is said that publicity(attention) was also a vital need for the strikers. They obviously needed the community's attention to make a difference, but this is dangerous because the strikers were targeted and so were the workers who requested the strike. Photos and eyewitness accounts of the workers on the boundary, in other words, the picket lines, were harrassed because the police obviously didn't approve of the strikers. Not only was the work of a striker complicated, but it was also dangerous.

I hope this helped in some way.
