After school I got a small cut on my arm. Although I washed it and put on a Band-Aid, the area was red, swollen, and I didn’t fe

el 100% normal for a few days. I got better and a scab formed, eventually disappearing in a few weeks. What was going on inside my after the cut?

Answer: Red blood cells help create collagen, which are tough, white fibers that form the foundation for new tissue. The wound starts to fill in with new tissue, called granulation tissue. New skin begins to form over this tissue. As the wound heals, the edges pull inward and the wound gets smaller
