Answer:

On the day of his father´s funeral, James got a letter from the family lawyer. The letter was not a formal will, but it did hold his father´s last wish: to give James his most valuable possession.

James knew that his father didn´t have much money, so he thought it might be some savings or something worth a little money. He became excited with the idea of getting some money to pay for his upcoming wedding. His father´s letter explicitly said he was sure whatever he intended to gift him could be of much use for that event.

His father´s exact words were: "Find the key to your future under the sink." James went to the kitchen hoping to find a hidden treasure, but he only found a literal key. Hidden between the pipes, was a small copper key attached to the wall.

After running around the house trying to find where to use it, he collapsed exhausted on his father´s bed. The same where his mother slept before she died, years ago.

He suddenly noticed a small copper chest on his father´s bedside table. He was surprised when the key got it open. There he found his mother´s wedding ring. Then he realized that the key to his future was getting married and having a loving family such as that his parents built for him.

What is the purpose of including this sentence in a memoir?
pav-90 [236]

A memoir is a group of memories written down by an author in order to show public or private moments of their life. The sentence shown remembering the math exam and the consequences of procrastination is included to show the writer's reflection (option B). The reflection of the consequences of procrastinating is explained by the failing of the exam. If the author had studied he would not have failed, leaving him with a life lesson.

Why does the author claim that assuming that the poem can mean anything readers want it to mean" is a false
Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

A)because the meaning of a poem is whatever the poet intended it to mean when he or she wrote it

Explanation:

An author's claim that a poem can mean anything the readers want it to mean is a false assumption because the poet already wrote the poem with an intended meaning.

A poet can decide to write a poem that has a theme of sadness and this is the meaning he wants it to convey and this meaning cannot be changed by a reader even if the reader understands the poem in a different way. At the end of the day, the meaning of the poem is whatever the poet intended it to mean when he/she wrote it.
