After the events that took place after 9/11, the U.S invaded Afghanistan. But I don't remember hearing about an "alliance" but they did have some what a alliance with United Kingdom and the Taliban. See if you look back at history they blamed Osama Bin Laden for the attack on 9/11 so there is no way they had an alliance especially since Osama was wanted in the FBI. In fact the president back then (George W Bush) demanded the Taliban to hand over Osama but the Taliban wanted proof that Osama's involvement in 9/11

There was never an alliance with Osama Bin Laden.
