Herbivores in the forest depend on trees for food, shelter, and protection from predators. With fewer trees in the area, competition between the herbivores for these resources will increase. This competition will lead to a decrease in their populations. Eventually, the carnivore populations won’t have as many prey animals to eat, and their populations will decrease too.

Herbivores will have less to eat cause more to die off which in turn effects the the predators who eat such herbivores will also have less to eat in the both are be effected negatively
