Fatty acids that are necessary for proper health but cannot be synthesized by the body are called ________ fatty acids.
PtichkaEL [24]

Fatty acids that are necessary for proper health but cannot be synthesized by the body are called gluconeogenesis fatty acids.

What is gluconeogenesis?

  • The process of producing glucose (sugar) from lipid (fat) or protein breakdown products, as well as from its own breakdown products.
  • Gluconeogenesis primarily takes place in liver or kidney cells.
  • The process of producing glucose in the body from non-carbohydrate precursors is known as gluconeogenesis.
  • New glucose is produced by biosynthesis, not through the ingestion of carbohydrates.
  • Lactate, pyruvate, glycerol (fat), and certain amino acids can all be converted into glucose (protein).
  • Both the kidneys and the liver engage in glucose synthesis.
  • Between meals, gluconeogenesis meets the need for plasma glucose.
  • The hormones that cause diabetes encourage the production of glucose (glucagon, growth hormone, epinephrine, and cortisol).
  • Glycerol, lactate, propionate, and a few amino acids are examples of gluconeogenic substrates.

Describe the structures of proteins and nucleic acids, and then explain the relationship between these two molecules within a ce
barxatty [35]
Proteins are large biological molecules consisting of one or more chains of amino acids. Proteins differ from one another primarily in their sequence of amino acids, which is decided by the nucleotide sequence of their make-up, and which usually results in folding of the protein into a three-dimensional structure that determines its job.
Nucleic acids are linear polymers (chains) of nucleotides. Each nucleotide consists of three things: a purine , nitrogenous base a pentose sugar, and a phosphate group.

Basically Proteins are chains of amino acids, nucleic acids are chains of nucleosides (base+sugar+phosphate), and the sequence of nucleic acid results in the specific sequence of amino acids in the protein, finnally determining its shape and function.

Many different organisms live in Amanda’s garden. The diagram shows a simple food web of some of the organisms in her garden.

Answer:

The snakes keep the mice from overpopulating, which could deplete their resources.

Explanation:

The mice and the moles are not competing against each other as they feed on different food. The problem is that if the mice population is not regulated, their very quick reproduction will cause overpopulation in very short space of time. The more mice there will be , the more food will be needed, so very soon the resources will be depleted, resulting in collapse of the mice population. This is where the snakes come in action, as they eat mice, so they are the ones that control and keep their population stable, thus not allowing the mice to overpopulate the area and destroy themselves.

An atom with a net positive charge must have more
ArbitrLikvidat [17]
Must have more protons. Protons are positively charged, so if the atom (or in this case ion) has a net positive charge, it must have more protons (+ charge) than electrons (- charge).
