<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

  • The free-soil party candidate drew votes away from Zachary Taylor.

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>

In 1848 the Free-Soil Party assigned the previous U.S. president Martin Van Buren to lead. In spite of the fact that the gathering surveyed just 10 percent of the prevalent vote in the presidential race that year, it debilitated the customary Democratic hopeful in New York and added to the race of the Whig applicant General Zachary Taylor as president.

malfutka [58]
The doctor tells Macbeth that his wife is very ill, and he cannot cure her. Macbeth reacts angrily, telling the doctor he cannot be bothered by such matters. This is so different than the start of the play when Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are shown as a close, loving couple. We know when Macbeth no longer cares about his wife that he is headed for tragedy
