The easier it is for a person to recall an instance in which they were betrayed by a friend, the more they expect such an event to happen again
The colonists had to develop their own governments anyway because of the fact that they were so far away from England. Then there was an event known as the First Great Awakening, which was a religious revival that swept across the colonies in the mid 1700's. This revival caused people to realize that everyone was equal in the eyes of God, so they applied that to their government and created representative governments where everyone had a say.
Back in England, the king wasn't allowing the colonies to have a representative in Parliament, so the colonies had no say whenever new laws or taxes were made for them. This made colonists mad, and eventually it led to them wanting to govern themselves and start a new country.
Parliament: There is no such thing in the United States. There's a senate and a house of representatives where the governing bodies are elected.
House of Representatives: I sort of gave it away in the previous answer. This is the answer.
Supreme Court: These people are never elected. They are hand picked by the president and much be approved of by the house.
Constitutional Congress: I'm not sure what this is: in any event it is not the answer.
Military: You mean that tough drill Sargent is elected? Who'd vote for him? No this answer is just taking up space, but it is today's laugh.
