How did the Supreme Court react to the New Deal legislation?.
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

The US Supreme Court used the power of judicial review to overturn six key New Deal programs and close one government agency in 1935 and 1936, in the early years of Roosevelt's New Deal.  She did not campaign for FDR in 1932 or 1936 because first ladies did not accompany their husbands on the campaign trail.

What do you think the value was in making the punishments for the crimes known to all according to hammurabi's Code of Laws ?
Vinvika [58]

I think that the value in the reason why the punishments for the crime was known to all in the Hammurabi code was so that it would  prevent society from descending into chaos and disorder.

<h3>What was the Hammurabi code?</h3>

The Babylonian monarch Hammurabi, who ruled from 1792 to 1750 B.C., established the Code of Hammurabi, one of the first and most comprehensive written law systems. Along the Euphrates River, Hammurabi developed the city-state of Babylon to encompass all of southern Mesopotamia.

The 282 rules that make up the Hammurabi code of laws established norms for business dealings and defined fines and penalties to satisfy the demands of justice. A large, finger-shaped black stone stele (pillar) with Hammurabi's Code inscribed on it was plundered by invaders and only recently found in 1901.

Diorite, a sturdy but extremely challenging stone to carve, was used to create the black stone stele that holds the Code of Hammurabi.

mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

John Locke.

Explanation:

John Locke is a British philosopher who lived in exile in the Netherlands from 1683 to 1688, his first finished work there was "An Essay Concerning Human Understanding", which addressed human knowledge topics, related to empiricism views.

Later in the book "The Second Treatise of Government" he argues against the Divine Right of Kings doctrine, which people were born in a condition that due to God subservience they should accept the social hierarchy and be obedient to their authoritarian Kings, as they were God’s representatives in earth.

Locke advocates that humans were free and decided because of natural laws to join together as in a social contract and to give part of their rights to a government, but keeping some rights, questioning the legitimacy of absolute power. He defends the sovereignty of the people and argues about legitimacy of government by decision and reasoning, opposing to legitimacy of power taken by force or violence.
