Yes, Water scarcity occurs due to exploitation and the contamination of water sources. There are less amount of fresh water present on planet earth and the human activities also contaminated the available fresh water which leads to water scarcity. There are about 3% of water is fresh water that is drinkable while the remaining is the salty water present in the oceans which is not drinkable so we can conclude that exploitation and the contamination are the main causes of water scarcity.
